Wake up and smell the cinnamon
There's something about Sundays, where even though all you want to do is veg and rest, you still want a nice Sunday breakfast (not to mention Sunday dinner). This is why I love cinnamon buns. They are comforting, they smell nice, they are ooey, gooey, sweet, and delicious. And somehow still considered an ok breakfast food. That's fine with me! But best of all, they can be prepared the day before and only take 10 minutes (ok, maybe 20 if you count preheating the oven) on Sunday morning to bake up fluffy and amazing.

Mini tastes better
I bought this super duper cute mini bundt pan the other day, and I just couldn't wait to use it any longer.
Besides, what's better than baking on a Friday night?? I swear I'm not pathetic... I do go out sometimes, but tonight it's rainy, chilly, and gloomy. The kind of night where you just want to curl up on your couch with someone warm and cuddly, drink in hand, movie on, favourite green fuzzy blanket wrapped around you, and of course, dessert! And if the drink and the dessert happen to get combined, all the better!

My first post... a little about me
Oh wow, you're reading my blog... I better say something super interesting...
...
...
So this is harder than I thought it was going to be! Let's start with something simple:
My name is Malgosia. I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto, and I looooooove (LOVE) to bake. I also love to eat... funny how those usually go together. It's often a problem because most of the time it's just me and my fiance Alex eating everything that I make, and sometimes I make several desserts in one day... Let's not talk about what happens then...
I recently also started to get into cake and cookie decorating! Yay! Maybe it's because I was doing some research on wedding cakes (I get married August 11th!). I find it fascinating the amount of detail that goes into custom cakes. A lot of the time you don't notice the individual elements and details, but you would notice if there was something missing; it just wouldn't be the same... I don't pretend to know everything on this subject (like I said, I just started!) but I would love to learn.
I decided to start a blog for my baked goods mostly because I can't shut up about them! And I'm sure most of the people I talk to regularly (Alex...) are getting sick of hearing about every little thing. I was also inspired to start a blog because of some of the other wonderful blogs that I started to follow. (Check out Sweetapolita, Pioneer Woman, Ali Bee's Bakeshop, The Sweet Adventures of Sugar Belle, Sprinkle Bakes, and Bake at 350: they are some of my faves!).
So my hope is that this wonderful thing that is the internet will be able to connect me and my ramblings to people who will enjoy them, just like I enjoy looking through my favorite food blogs. And who knows, maybe someday some people will wait impatiently for a new post to show up here, just like I do for my favourite bloggers....
So happy reading, happy baking, and always - happy eating!
