I first encountered roasted white chocolate at Soma here in Toronto. I couldn’t resist buying their roasted white chocolate bar white it’s lightly browned, slightly crisp edges, and that’s saying a lot since I normally want to buy everything in there. So it was only natural that when I had the idea to make a classic lava cake with white chocolate, I had to roast it first.

Vegetable Marrow And Blue Cheese Dip
It’s a week until the Superbowl and as someone who doesn’t really follow the NFL I have chosen the Seahawks this year as my adopted team. And boy was that ever a comeback last week! That thing they did where they faked the kick and got the touchdown was craziness! Plus I don’t think I’ve ever seen a football game go into overtime. I was also relieved because last year I chose the Chargers and they lost in the semis (do they call them “semis” in football??).

Roasted Grapefruit Pomegranate Rosewater Yogurt
My weekday breakfast usually consists of a bowl of cereal and an espresso. I eat it in front of the computer while checking any e-mails I got since the previous day. I usually have about 5 minutes to do this before I realize that it’s definitely time to leave for work.

Fur-ther
Maybe because it’s cold out, maybe because it’s nice to pet, but lately I’m very into everything furry. I picture cozy throws and pillows on the couch, furry rugs on the floor.

Grapefruit Sumac Salad And A New Year
2015 is here and it promises to be a big one here. Alex and I are both planning to graduate (and you can be sure I’ll let you know the moment you can call me doctor), and neither of us knows exactly what we want to do after that. So far we have one wedding to attend in Hawaii and another in Germany.
But before I look too far ahead, I thought I would look back and see how I did on last January’s plans and allow them to inspire/educate this year’s.
